BRS RO/DI systems

If I currently have the BRS 4 stage RO/DI and I have an extra canister left over from one of their media reactors, can I upgrade my RO unit to a 5 stage? To me they appear to be the same canister but I wasn't sure if that would work so I wanted to ask.

 

Should be fine with adding another filter housing. These are just nicely asembled series of standard 10" fiter housings, just make sure to clean it well before repurposing it. Just watch for extra pressure drop the finer filter may cause, this may effect the ratio of concentrate to permeate.

 

Yes. I reconfigured my BRS 4 stage to a six stage drinking water. I called BRS and they even helped me thru it.

 

After much looking and browsing and procrastinating I realized my media filter has 1/2" hose connections and my RO/DI unit has 1/4" connections. I'll contact BRS and see what they say unless someone knows of a local option.

 

There are a couple options for you. The first would be to get a new 1/4" pushlock to 1/2" npt fitting to screw into the housing The other would be to get a 1/4" x 1/2" pushlock connecter. Wont effect the performance either way you go since you are alrwady restricted to 1/4" at the ro unit.
