Fall Fest 1st annual Fest Cook-Off/Potluck. Who has the cooking skills?

    To try and do something a bit more fun, we are going to have a cook off and potluck.

    Nothing brings people together like sharing a meal together.

    Details are still going to be hashed out, but hopefully something like this.

    Cook-off.

    Club will provide meat to entrants to cook at home and bring to the fest. I know there are several members who take pride in their BBQ skills.

    Members can bring their favorite dish to add to potluck.

    We will make some fun prizes for best meat and best side dish.

    Note you wont have to bring a dish if you dont want to, but everyone will be welcome to eat.

    I would like to hear your thoughts.

    Truthfully this is a great idea. Getting back to the basics of just a good old get together/sell some frags or buy event. I like the direction this is going.

    I have some good bbq skills only issue will there be a grill or something there to keep it warm ect. Just worried about the people driving long distance

    I honestly dont know yet. I know there will be power to plug stuff int to keep warm, but I am not sure about grills. When we get a little closer we will be able to work out more of these type of details.

    I'll throw in a few teasers... ;) I personally don't think I'd we'd need anything more than somewhere to plug roasters in...anything I'd bring and something like @Roman@Roman brisket would be done hrs and hrs ahead of time.

    I have never heard of smoked lasagna, but sounds awesome.

    Id be interested. If I have the day off of work o would love to smoke some meat to bring. I've got a well seasoned, self modified smoked that's been begging to be used. May even be willing to bring some home brew if I get around to it.

    This sounds great ain't nothing better to us from the south then a old-fashioned BBQ cook off I'll be there with pork pinwheels and shrimp stuffed mushrooms
