We will be having a how to take pics in a reef tank meeting December 6th 1pm at @Blanch (Brandon) house.

There will be 2 giveaways at this meeting 1 set of 2" gels and a dslr set of gels.

There might be more added once I confirm

Count me in, it would be nice to meet some members in person, had to bolt from 'fest before I had the chance to mingle. I have a Canon DSLR but don't have anything for macro lenses, I will bring it if it will do any good.
Anything else I could bring?

 

You shouldn't need a macro. Of course, if you have one great! Bring it and a tripod. Otherwise a 18-55mm will work. If you have a dedicated 40mm or 50mm that will work too and get you some nice shots. But I'm perfectly fine using the 18-55mm on the Nikons.

 

Cool, the smallest lens I have is a 18-135, I guess it will focus down to 1.5', thought it was much more than that. I'll bring that and my tripod. I have a cheapy spare tripod if we need an extra for the meeting.
...anything else on the "nice to bring list"?

 

We will try to make it. We have a wedding up north that weekend but will try and make it back in time.

 

@wouldtick I know you had a new camera and wanted something like this in the past. Hope you're able to make it to this one!

Excited to see everyone here today! @Blanch is supplying everything but the kitchen sink (or the beer) for food so you better come hungry!

Bring your camera, bring your camera phone, bring your DSLR (even if it is a canon)! Tripod? Sure! Do you have other lenses? Bring those too! However, you will need a good sense of humor and a really good fish tank to take pictures of. Oh wait! There will be a really great fish tank to take pictures of.

Plus @Armydog and myself will be there, and let's be honest, who doesn't like us? We're amazing people.

I'm going to give you tips to help you try to win the next photo contest. But shh... that's a secret.
