We're in the planning stages of a DIY food event combining @Region: Cedar Rapids & Iowa City and @Region: Waterloo & Cedar Falls

UPDATE Room is booked for Sunday May 1st
    Urbana Community Center
    102 Capital Ave
    Urbana IA 52345
The 23rd would have been a conflict with Burlington as they had their event on the calendar first and we're going to need the supplies. 24th the community center was already booked.
We have the room available all day so we can decide on a time that works best for most of the people that wish to come help out.

For anyone who doesn't know this is the process and the recipe we use for the club food. DIY Food
This is awesome stuff and the fish go nuts for it.
Pricing will vary a little bit, but we try to shoot for around $10/bag for those that attend the event and help make the food. For those not attending there will be some extra bags available and those would probably be closer to $15/bag. These are gallon sized ziplock bags and we shoot for 16oz of food in them. Compared to commercial available frozen foods this is much better pricing.

Please post in this thread how many bags of food you would want. We need to get a count to get the order figured out.

Oh, that's a good idea - joint region meeting, wish I'd thought of that. A lot easier than splitting up the ingredients to 2 different places!

With both the regions being slow lately we thought we would give it a shot and see what happens. Hopefully the community center gets back to me and it we can make that work out.

Maybe I missed it, but where is this being held? The room is booked, but where is the room? :)

I'd like to attend if at all possible but would take 3 bags regardless.

I am planning on attending. How long do you think this will keep in the freezer? I will take 1 bag maybe 2 if it lasts long enough.

Also, I have some dried food I was wondering if it can get mixed in, it is about 1.5 years old. Mysis, brine and some blood worms, my intent was to soak it in garlic prior to feeding but I just don't use that much of it. I will have to get exacts later if it can be used.

I have kept food for a pretty long time, as long as it doesn't get freezer burn I think well over a year is possible. I put cardboard between the packs and the freezer walls to prevent burn.

You can mix in anything you want after it's bagged, throw the dry stuff in and mix it around then lay it flat and freeze, should be OK

I have kept it for over a year in the deep freeze. As long as the bags were tight I didn't have any issue with freezer burn.

I'll have to get a list together of the club supplies that we have, but if you look in the DIY food how to in the resource section its got a pretty good list of what we'll need.
