green hairs in tank

    This isn't hair algae, but rather something that is making a single long hair. The hair is a greenish brown, and in a matter of a couple of days I've gone from none of them to a number of them in the tank. Any idea what this might be? They seem to be emanating from a little speck on the glass and I'm sure on whatever else they're on.
