Hello, for exactly the third time

    Hey all, it's Ryan again. I was active from about what, 2001-2008? Lost everything when a landlord refused to fix my a/c. Popped in again years ago but never did start another tank.

    I'll be starting a planted freshwater 120 here in the coming weeks and am starting to think about what I'm going to do for salt down the road. Whatever I end up doing, I'm going to build everything by hand - in retrospect the part I enjoyed the most - and on the cheap. Fortunately I kept all my rock.

    Looking forward to meeting the modern day club!

    If you're into DIY I've got all the panels of a 120 gallon tank I need to get rid of. It was leaking so I pulled it apart with intentions of rebuilding, but never made it that far.

    I started in this hobby on 2003. Didn't know about GIRS. in 2007 I attended the DFS conference in Rhinelander, WI. I walked onto the show floor, and the 1st table inside the door was manned by a young man from a group called GIRS, from Des Moines iowa. His name was Ryan. He introduced me to GIRS. Is that you????

    We're trying to get more activities going for the Des Moines/Ames region this year. Maybe you will want be able to join us. And don't miss Spring Fest at the state fairgrounds on St. Pat's day.

    The club also has a Par meter that we loan out to paying members.
