I would like to purchase rodi water from someone near or in Ames Iowa. I would be looking at purchasing around 10 gallons of rodi water a week to use as top off water. As of now I have to drive to DesMoines if I would like to buy rodi water, just looking for some a little closer. Thanks

Ever thought of just biting the bullet and buying an RO/DI unit? They really aren't that expensive and it saves all the hassle of lugging around containers to buy water.

I have considered it, but I think I am going to wait until I am out of college. I dont know much about the rodi unit itself, or how to set it up. I live in a small apartment and dont really have much room to play with, so I think I will have to wait.

Try a grocery store or walmart. Get their RO water and test it. If it's good use it, if not try somewhere else. That would be about the only other suggestion I could think of.

Good idea, what should I be testing it for? TDS and phosphates?

I've had good luck with Hy-Vee refill water in the past. Ended up buying an RODI because I can make it and store it on my schedule. When I tested the water TDS wan't too bad though it seemed to depend on the last time the filters were changed. Did not test for phosphates or anything else so I won't speak to that.

RO drinking water at hyvee, walmart, etc is generally a crapshoot, usually it's OK, TDS will be around 10-15 in most cases, sometimes I have gotten 0 TDS but that was at a brand new walmart. I have also seen TDS as high as 150 at walmart.

Even if it's 1.0 TDS that might all be Phosphate so think about that. I would consider finding someone who has a reef RODI system and is willing to provide you water. Gotta be someone in Ames. Try The Basement Bay (username)

You can certainly buy from us! We are in Ames (west ames)... not too far from campus and there's no need to go out and buy a TDS.... you can use ours every time you come and pickup- you can test it. /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/wink.gif
