I do not know about everyone else but one think I like to do is go online and look at build threads that are similar to my tank. I can do the research and see product reviews but unless I can see the results from day 1 to day 1000 it is not enough. I hope I can start a trend and possibly it gets big enough we have to put a whole new forum section in just for build threads! So here we go....

    Equipment
    Tank: 29g Biocube
Stand: Built my own stand so there was more room in the cabinet and a little bigger base overall
Skimmer: (chamber 1) AquaticLIfe Internal Mini Protein Skimmer 115
    Circulation: Vortech MP10 QD
Lights: (have not purchased yet) A.I. Prime
    Filtration: (chamber 2) media basket, chemi-pure eltie + chemi-pure blue, rock rubble(8-10lbs)
I have the original bio cube pump below the rock rubble to circulate the water more.
Rock: 30lbs of dry rock, BRS Reef Saver Dry Aquarium Live Rock from bulk reef supply
Sand: CaribSea Arag-Alive Hawaiian Black Aquarium
I've had the white sand before so I wanted to try something different.
Return Pump: Marineland Maxi-Jet Powerhead 1200
Heater: (chamber 3) A cheapo $30 from seascapes, but I did use the same one on my last tank and it worked good.

    Equipment I might add.
ATO:JBJ auto top off with probably a 40 breeder or something cheap.
I'm sure there are a lot of more things I can add in the future.

    Livestock
Well I am currently still cycling my tank so I have nothing in there yet but

    Fish: 2 Clownfish (how original)
    maybe 1 more small fish
    COC: random snails and craps
Inverts: Blood Red fire shrimp (FAVORITE)
    Corals: EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sure I will update thins again once I realize what I have forgotten and I will try to post pictures later tonight/tomorrow. Let this inspire someone!

I should have my AI prime tomorrow so once I get them up I'll try and get some pictures. I've tried taking some but the lights that came with the bio cube ended up blowing out after a few minutes haha.

I do have a question for someone though: Does anyone have experience with making their bio cube rimless?

I've seen a lot of pictures and I really like it especially since I'm going topless with it.

A tank with a eurobrace has one for a reason - acrylic thickness of rimless tanks is sometimes 3x that of a braced tank

Not being a professional in the tank area, is that you saying yes it would be fine or no I would not do it? ha

Shoot me a link to the tank or a pic of the top of the tank with the lid off

Honestly I can't imagine the little plastic on top does that much for supporting.

That doesn't look like it has been "cut" off, just removed. I thought you were saying that the tank had a eurobrace and you wanted to cut that off.

If you asked the manufacturer they would probably say that the brace actually does provide a little additional support but is mainly for appearance and function (the top/lid)

Sorry I guess I didn't explain very well but it seems more to hold the lid then anything. Thanks for the input though.

Ordered my AI primes (bulkreef) Wednesday, tested them last night and they were defective. Now I'm out of lights until at least Tuesday. :(
And according to bulk that's only if they can prove they are defective, which I'm hoping doesn't really mean much.

Did you contact AI directly bladerunner? I would've called BRS as well but don't hesitate to call AI, their customer service is excellent and being an Iowa based company they are quick with parts/replacement.

I had actually no clue they were based in Iowa, honestly that makes me a lot happier to buy from them as well! I would of drove up there myself if they would of replaced it haha.

Good luck though. Since they got bought out by Ecotech I heard service went down the toilet. Maybe that has changed

That's unfortunate to hear, when did they get bought out? I received great customer service in the spring of this year.

Youre right Bud, I did some checking myself and saw that. It's always hard to judge customer service because it only takes one bad experience to have the negative word passed around, so who knows. I will say though that they were very good with me, gave me a deal on some replacement parts and even allowed me to come by the shop to pick them up and save the time/money on shipping. This was even for used lights I had bought, no warranty. I was rather pleased to say the least!

I think what I heard was related to Central Campus or Smouse, and it was right around the time of the transition, so it might have been just a temporary thing.

Curious if anyone here has experience with the AI prime lighting? Along with that what is the recommended amount of time lights should be on for coral growth?

Right now I'm set up for what's supposed to be about 16k lighting at 8 hours. Its only at the full 16k for about 3 hours.
