SPS Corals fighting

So I'm encountering an issue and I'm curious as to how others handle the situation. I have several SPS corals in my tank that are encrusting into each other and are slowly fighting for space. Now I know what you're thinking, "look at this guy, he's complaining because his SPS are growing too much".

So for anyone with an SPS tank, do you do anything when you're corals start fighting or do you just let nature work itself out? Just to clarify it's the encrusting bases that are touching, not the arms, so it's not something that can be easily cut back.

If the damage from their turf war is threatening the health of the entire coral, I would take action to relocate. However, if they're just having a localized battle I would let it go - the corals know what they're doing and have been doing it for millions of years :)

Plus this makes for a fun focal point on your tank when you have non-reefers looking at it. "See, they're animals, fighting for resources. Nature!"

I have same problem. I have been letting it go but one is overtaking the other. So I an going to put some putty over the base of the dominant coral so it has to grow up an over the putty. Then I will just bust the putty off and start with another piece of putty.
I am gonna continue to do this until I can upgrade my display. It is currently on hold until I can work around a snag I have encountered.
The 2 corals I have battling bases with is my sexy corals orange passion and tyree rainbow acro.
I have several others that I have to trim branches on also.

I do the putty thing as well. If anyone was wondering pavona beats spongodes and tri-color valida beats orange monti-cap. I've been throwing away pieces of pavona and monti cap. Maybe I should actually frag them haha. We should make a Pokemon game based upon corals battling.

So what putty is everyone using for this? The stuff used for glueing rocks together or is it something different? Oh and tri-color valida beats out pink lemonade too lol
