Watchman is in the prefilter

    I got a yellow watchman goby last week, and it's been doing really well. It's started to explore the tank more in the last few dsys. Tonight  my wife said she couldn't find him anywhere; then she said she found him in the prefilter. Since I have a canopy with my AI LED lighting suspended in it, it's going to be a big deal to get him out. I guess that's all part of it. In the meantime, he should be fine in there.

    Yea that happens. Last time it happened to me it was a flasher wrasse. I made a small trap out of a water bottle and caught him.

    Just take a bottle cut the top off 2 or 3 inches down flip it over and slide it in to the other piece. So the opening is now a funnel into the bottle. Tie a piece of fishing string around the bottle put a cube of frozen food in the bottle and lower it into place.

    I have used that type of trap to catch a certain fish and it does not always get the 1 I want when in a fresh water community tank.
    with him being the only fish in there your chances should be good at getting him.

    I have the trap in there, now just waiting for him to get hungry. Wish me luck!

    I broke down and tore the top of the tank apart to get to the prefilter. I netted the watchman, and now he's back in the DT. If he insists on going in there again, it may just become his home. I hate tearing out 4 Tunze pumps. They needed to be cleaned, but I didn't want to do that right now. Appreciate it little guy.
