I am assuming most of you are like me and operate your fish tank on somewhat of a budget.  We all clearly have a little discretionary cash but, what if money were no object?  What would your dream system look like?
Maybe this is silly but I was in my fish room the other day looking at the wall thinking what is I had that entire wall as my tank.  That would be incredible.  So let's hear it dreamers.  Dream big

A huge olympic sized swimming pool sized tank in the ground in an conservatory (fancy greenhouse).

It would have  tropical plants planted on the topside. Big glass wall in the basement to see into pool, and ability to snorkel in it.
It would start out an inch deep and gradually get deeper until it was 15 ft deep or so.  The shallows would have mangroves & other algaes, the moderate depths would have lps & SPS in the deeper parts.
There would be schools of every kind of fish I could get, as well as an incredble filter system & surge, flow system.
    I have a wild imagination

I'm with Craig on this. That would be a great dream. I have a smaller one that bases off of yours sblomgren. I just redid mt basement and wish I did it differently so that I could have a 10' L by 4' D by 6' T tank on the one wall. I have a 6' tank now so it'd only be 4 foot longer and but the deepth to the wall and the height would be twice what they are now. I'd have it stocked with everything that I could. Still learning corals so I dont really have a list of what all would be in it. Now the only thing with my dream is once I get a big enough bonus at work I'm building the tank!!! /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/biggrin.gif

Mine would be like Craig's except it would be twice as big. Just imagine really big, then double that. Yeah.

I like this idea. I'd likely buy a place out in the Caribbean.

Although, I've thought of going super big before, keeping something large enough to keep sharks in a reef tank. But as my tastes have changed, I would opt for a 12'x4'x30" tank in a home by the sea out on Cape Cod, and pump in sea water (through a fluidized bed filter/ozone) continuously and cut all the excess equipment out of the system.

I want to build a 8'x2'x2' tank in wall in the basement when I go to finish it, hopefully within the next few years! Only thing is Im torn between a reef or fowlr tank because I LOVE my reef tank but the 240long is more prompt for a good fowlr tank being that its got tons of swimming room.... :/
